Terms of Service
HostSerp is a brand of Eternal Digital LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. These terms are the agreement between you and Eternal Digital LLC (trading as HostSerp, and referred to here as "HostSerp", "we" and "us"), covering your use of hostserp.com and everything on it.

1. Accepting these terms
By using HostSerp you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. If you use HostSerp on behalf of a company or another organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it, and "you" means that organisation as well as you personally.
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to terms like these without a parent or guardian, that age applies to you instead.
2. What HostSerp is, and what it is not
HostSerp is a directory and review site for hosting providers. We publish provider listings and we host ratings and reviews written by our members. We do not sell hosting, we do not operate any of the services listed, and we are not the agent of any provider. Nothing on HostSerp is professional, technical, financial or legal advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy from any particular provider.
Deciding which provider to use, and checking the provider's own terms before you buy, is your decision and your responsibility.
3. How these terms apply to you
All of these terms apply to everyone using the site. What they mean day to day differs depending on why you are here, so the two common cases are set out below.
If you are here to read or write reviews
- Keep one account, give accurate details when you register, and keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- Only review a provider you have genuinely used, and describe your own experience. Do not write a review in exchange for payment, a discount, a refund, free hosting or anything else of value, from anyone.
- Do not post anything false, misleading, defamatory, abusive, hateful, obscene, or anything that reveals another person's private information. Do not post other people's copyrighted material as your own.
- Do not vote on or report reviews to manipulate a provider's standing, and do not use more than one account to do it.
- You keep the copyright in what you write. See section 5 for the permission you give us to publish it.
If you are a hosting provider or other business
- Listings are editorial. We decide which providers to list and what a listing says, and we maintain listing information ourselves. Being listed is not an endorsement, and not being listed is not a judgement.
- You may claim your provider profile to ask for corrections or additions. We review claims and may ask you to prove your authority over the business. Approving a claim does not give you editorial control of your ratings or reviews.
- Do not review your own company, a company you work for or are paid by, or a competitor. Do not ask, pay or incentivise anyone else to do so. Do not offer anything of value in exchange for a review, a changed review or a removed review.
- Do not attempt to have a truthful negative review removed by threatening us or the reviewer. We will consider any properly made legal complaint, but we do not remove reviews simply because a provider dislikes them.
- Advertising and sponsored placement, where offered, are separate from ratings and reviews, and are governed by the separate agreement covering them. They do not change a provider's score.
- If you are given access to an API or a provider dashboard, use it only for your own business and within any documented limits.
4. Reviews, moderation and removal
We publish reviews as they were submitted. We do not edit them to flatter or to damage a provider. Members can vote on reviews and report ones that appear to break these terms.
We may remove or refuse to publish any content, suspend any account, and withdraw any listing, where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, where we are required to by law, or where leaving the content up would expose us or someone else to harm. We are not obliged to monitor everything posted, and we do not promise to review every report, though we try to.
A rating shown on a profile is calculated by us from member reviews. We may change how we calculate it, exclude reviews we believe to be inauthentic, and recalculate historical scores accordingly.
5. Who owns what
Your reviews. You keep the copyright in the words you write. By submitting a review, rating, comment or any other content to HostSerp you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, publish, display, adapt, translate and distribute it, in whole or in part, on HostSerp and in our own promotion of HostSerp, in any medium. You confirm the content is yours to give and that publishing it will not break anyone else's rights. This licence continues even if you later delete the content or close your account, because ratings calculated from it and copies already distributed cannot practically be unwound, but we will stop displaying the review itself on request where we are able to.
Our site and our data. Everything else on HostSerp belongs to us or to our licensors: the HostSerp name and mark, the site and its design and code, the provider listings we compile and maintain, the hosting categories, criteria and specification structures we define, the ratings and scores we calculate, and the selection and arrangement of the review collection as a whole. The database and compilation are ours, independently of who owns any individual review in it.
6. What you may not do with our content
You may read HostSerp, link to it, and quote a reasonable extract with a visible credit and a working link back to the page it came from. Beyond that, and without our written permission, you may not:
- scrape, crawl, spider, harvest or otherwise systematically extract listings, reviews, ratings or any other content, by any automated or manual means;
- copy, republish, redistribute, sell, license or make available a substantial part of the reviews, ratings or listings, whether as data, as a feed, inside another product, or as part of another directory;
- use any of it to train, fine-tune or ground a machine learning model, language model or other automated system;
- strip, hide or alter any credit, attribution, rating context or link when displaying anything taken from HostSerp;
- frame or mirror the site so it appears to be yours, or remove or obscure our branding;
- circumvent rate limits, access controls, robots directives or any other technical measure, or use the site in a way that places an unreasonable load on it;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the site, except to the extent the law says we cannot stop you.
Crawling by general-purpose search engines in line with our robots.txt is permitted. Everything else needs permission: write to hello@hostserp.com.
7. Provider information may be out of date
We put real effort into keeping listings accurate, but a provider can change its prices, plans, specifications, policies, ownership or support arrangements at any time and without telling us. Promotional pricing in particular changes often, and a renewal price can differ from the price shown at signup.
So the information on HostSerp may be incomplete, superseded or wrong at the moment you read it. Treat it as a starting point for your own research, and check the provider's own site and terms before you buy anything. We do not warrant that any listing, price, specification, rating or review is accurate, current or complete.
8. Advertising, sponsorship and affiliate links
HostSerp carries advertising, and some of it is served by third-party ad networks rather than by us. We may also show sponsored placements, which we label, and we may earn a commission when you follow certain links to a provider and go on to buy from them. Those links are sometimes called affiliate links.
Earning a commission from a provider does not change that provider's rating, which is calculated from member reviews. We do not control the content of third-party advertising, and an advertisement appearing on HostSerp is not an endorsement by us. How advertising affects your personal data is covered in our Privacy Policy.
9. Other sites we link to
HostSerp links out to provider websites and other third-party services. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content, products, pricing or privacy practices, and following a link means you are dealing with that third party under its terms, not ours.
10. The site is provided as it is
HostSerp is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that the information on it is accurate or complete.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither we nor our directors, employees or suppliers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, data, goodwill or anticipated saving, arising out of or connected with your use of HostSerp, your reliance on anything published here, or any dealing you have with a provider you found through us.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims connected with HostSerp is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, demand, loss, liability and reasonable legal cost arising from content you submit, from your use of the site, or from your breach of these terms. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own breach or negligence.
13. Suspension and ending your use
You may stop using HostSerp and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access, with or without notice, if you break these terms or if we reasonably need to in order to protect the site, our members or a third party. Sections 5, 6, 10, 11 and 12 continue to apply after your use ends.
14. Changes
We may change the site, and we may change these terms. When a change is significant we will update the date at the top of this page and, where it materially affects your rights, give notice on the site or by email. Continuing to use HostSerp after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You and we agree to try to resolve any dispute informally first by contacting each other. If that fails, the dispute will be heard by the courts of that jurisdiction, and you and we each consent to those courts having jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident in a country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own local courts, or applies mandatory local consumer protections, this section does not take those rights away from you.
Any claim must be brought within one year of the event it arises from, except where the law gives you longer and does not allow that period to be shortened.
16. Everything else
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about HostSerp. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale of the business.
17. Contacting us
For anything about these terms, copyright complaints or permission requests, write to hello@hostserp.com. For anything else, contact us.
